good but music stops

definitely an improvement in gameplay, but the music stopped after a few levels. Might want to fix that.

Fun and stylish

Awesome game. Lots of fun, but I got a huge score, and when I submitted it to the top list, it didn't register even though I was way above the two that were on the list. Might want to check that and update it asap 'cause this games gonna get a lot of views really quick. Good job!

Thanks!
Yeah I'm currently workin on actually integrating the top ten scores into the actual flash. Hopefully it should be up soon :/

Awesome engine, but needs debugging

This is REALLY good, but there were a few things I think can be improved upon. First of all, when you do a mission, it looks like you don't get rewarded for completed missions unless you go directly back to the city hall, that is, if you accidentally run into any rouges on the way back (or on the way there, for that matter), or do pretty much any other stuff, then when you click on city hall again to get your reward, it just goes to the regular city hall menu instead of the "mission complete, here's your reward" screen. That was a major bug to fix.
Now, there was also something that's not necessarily a bug, but I think you should change it. That is, the fact that you get every single weapon of the conquered enemy when you win a battle is basically the same thing as an automatic cash reward. There's nothing wrong with cash rewards, but I've found this one to be a little out of hand. For example, in my situation, once I defeated two villages, I had sold enough weapons to get around 6 million gold, which only grew, as it basically gave me a virtually infinite supply of troops, and therefore more money as those troops conquered everything, leaving me with even more weapons to sell. So there are two ways to fix this. One way would be to reduce the number/value of weapons collected after a fight, which would take care of your exponential growth of money, or make troops increasingly more expensive to counteract this exponentially growing wealth. Another thing I'd love to see sometime is if you can do something other than just equip your hero with all those leftover weapons. This would also help reduce the number of weapons sold, which would also help with the infinite money thing too.
Anyway, it's still a fun game, and I hope you make another now that you know what you can do better on, 'cause if you do, it's sure to become one of my favorites.

cool

Wow, you actually own all those clothes? You've got good taste! Good job on the game, and I really love the intro page with the face. :P

TheMJ responds:

Thank you very much. :D I make most of them.

very nice art, from a cool anime

Good job on this! I really like the art, and I like Ouran. Don't listen to all those guys saying they want to see girls titties and stuff, just express what you like ;) In fact, I think it's cool to see girls submitting more content recently. I think both genders can learn a lot from each other artistically.
You've got a real talent for illustration. Did you use a wacom tablet or similar device? I wish I had one of those...
Anyway, keep up the artwork, and I hope to review something else of yours in the future!

great job! Just one suggestion

Awesome to see another anime/manga game! You did a really professional job on the graphics, and I applaud you for that. There's just one thing, and maybe I'm missing something, but, as I understand it, you're not supposed to hit your own character, and if you do you lose one life. BUT, if you don't hit it, he/she will shoot at you! Oh, and also, I tried dodging with the spacebar, but I still kept getting hit, though that may just be due to my lack-o-skill. So, anyway, it seems like a lose-lose situation unless you dodge the bullet, which I couldn't. Was this an intended dynamic of the game, or something maybe you could fix?
Either way, good job on the game overall.

the best educational flash game ever!

This is one of the best educational games I've played, AND it's free! Thanks very much for putting this here on NG. The graphics were great, and I really liked the flash card idea. There are so many details in this game, it's amazing. Great job!

pretty fun

It was a fun little game. A couple things I noticed though: First of all, I noticed that his collision detection area is a box around him as opposed to his image, that is, if you stand near an enemy, you sometimes still recieve damage even though it doesn't look like your character is touching it. Another thing is that the swinging of the sword is really slow, which is part of what makes it so hard, and the area it sweeps out is really small too, which is another part of what makes the game really hard. This may have been intentional, but to me, it became pretty frustrating. Fun game, though, 'cause it's nicely stylized and stuff.

Starblinky responds:

hmm thank you for your comment. I will consider making his swing faster.

Good idea

I like this idea. Thanks for making it. I'm sure it will be helpful to lots of people.
I did find one bug, though, which you should fix right away for a better score. You know how you have all those different fonts that we are supposed to be able to choose from? Well, I think you forgot to embed most of the fonts so that they can be available to everyone, even people who don't have that font stored on their pc. Consequently, they all look like times new roman or whatever the default is for that person's computer. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just look for an option to "embed fonts" in Flash, or google it, like "flash tutorial embed fonts". Anyway, hope this is helpful.

good formula

bright colors, blasting away at stuff, and flying around-a good formula for an addicting game. It's really really similar to a computer game called Mono. Ever heard of it? I highly recommend it, but I couldn't help remarking at the similarity between these games.

I'm just looking to explore the contemporary scene of electronic art, and have some fun while I'm at it.
